Liner Installation

A premium vinyl liner, custom-manufactured to your pool's exact dimensions, is fitted and vacuum-sealed for a smooth, watertight finish with no joins.

The liner and structure are separate by design. The shell is permanent; the liner is replaceable — after 15–20+ years in New Zealand conditions, it's swapped out with zero structural work, and it's your chance to change colour or pattern. No fibreglass or concrete pool can offer that.

Insulation Installation

Before backfill, 90mm high-density insulation is fitted directly against the steel walls — standard on every build, not an upgrade.

An insulated Aqualux pool retains heat longer than an uninsulated fibreglass or concrete pool, extending your swimming season and cutting running costs for life.

Concrete Integration

Reinforced concrete forms the base and locks the steel structure into your section, fully encasing the panels into one rigid, unified shell.

This steel-and-concrete integration is what gives an Aqualux pool its permanence — engineered for reactive clays and sloped terrain, anywhere in NZ.

Steel Wall Assembly

Galvanised steel wall panels are positioned on-site and braced to your pool's exact shape and depth. No pre-formed shell, no crane, no requirement for a perfectly level excavation.

Built panel by panel on your actual section, this steel wall construction conforms to slopes, irregular boundaries, and restricted access — sites where fibreglass and poured concrete can't compete.

The Aqualux on-site system is assembled directly to your section's gradient. There is no pre-cast shell requiring a flat, uniformly sized excavation. Sloped sections, split levels, and constrained-access sites are where this construction method performs at its best — and where fibreglass installers and concrete contractors typically decline to quote or price the job beyond reach.

What  Homeowners Ask Before They Build

  • Our team visits your property to assess gradient, soil conditions, access, available space, and site-specific constraints. We confirm whether the Aqualux system suits your section and provide guidance on pool size, placement, and what the build process involves. No cost, no obligation.

  • Insulation must be applied to the exterior face of the steel walls before any soil is returned — it cannot be retrofitted after backfill. Aqualux includes it as standard on every build because an insulated pool retains heat measurably longer, reducing heating costs and extending the swimming season.

  • A fibreglass shell is manufactured at a fixed size and craned into a pre-dug hole, requiring flat and accessible sites. On-site steel wall construction has no such constraints — the pool is assembled directly to the gradient and dimensions of your section, making it viable on sloped, narrow, and difficult-access sites anywhere in NZ.

  • Excavation and construction temporarily affects the immediate build area. Aqualux works to a defined four-step construction sequence minimising active disruption. Most builds complete from excavation to filled pool within 4–8 weeks.

  • The galvanised steel wall and reinforced concrete shell is engineered for decades of structural performance. It is not a consumable component. The vinyl liner — the interior surface only — is separately serviceable and replaceable without any work to the shell.
