How We Build an Aqualux Steel Wall Swimming Pool
Every Aqualux swimming pool is engineered and constructed on-site using a reinforced galvanised steel wall and concrete system designed for New Zealand conditions. This construction method delivers structural integrity, thermal efficiency, and long-term serviceability.
Step 1: Site Preparation & Wall Bracing
Engineered Foundation Preparation
Your project begins with careful measurement, excavation, and site levelling to match your desired pool shape and depth. Steel wall panels and structural braces are positioned and anchored around the perimeter, forming the primary structural framework.

Step 2: Thermal Insulation
Integrated Thermal Insulation
High-density insulation foam is installed on the exterior of the steel walls before backfilling. This advanced step helps your pool retain warmth, reduce energy costs, and extend your swimming season.

Step 3: Concrete Foundation & Wall Reinforcement
Structural Reinforcement & Concrete Integration
A reinforced concrete slab is poured within the steel wall structure, forming a durable pool floor. Additional concrete is poured behind the walls, fully encasing each panel for outstanding structural strength and long-term stability.

Step 4: Custom Liner Installation
A Perfect, Lasting Finish
A premium Aqualux vinyl liner—custom made for your pool—is precisely fitted and vacuum-sealed to the structure. As the pool is filled, the liner is drawn evenly into position, ensuring a smooth, watertight and precisely fitted finish.

Engineered Construction Oversight
Each stage of construction is completed by experienced teams following engineered specifications, ensuring consistent structural performance from excavation to final fill.
